Communication and Promotion Team Member

Position Description

Team members will: monitor incoming email and answer/forward them to appropriate SPECTRUM volunteers; respond to voicemail received on our telephone service; maintain email lists for communicating with various groups of people/agencies; send out announcements on social media; and develop and carry out promotional strategies for each of our services and programs.

We need detail-oriented volunteers to handle these tasks in a timely and professional manner. We don’t expect any one person to handle all the tasks.

Impact Statement

Communication and Promotion Team members are responsible for receiving and answering inquiries from the public and promoting our programs and services.  Help us manage our public relations!

Time Commitment

Time commitment – no more than five hours a month for any one of the following: incoming email, voicemail, mail-outs, social media and promotional strategies.

We are asking for a commitment to this position of at least 12 months.

Training Details

You will work with other members of the Communication and Promotion Team to learn how to handle the tasks that you take on.

Please note!

You must be of Age of Majority (18 years old) in Ontario to volunteer. If you are below the age of majority, you may require express written consent of a legal guardian to volunteer with SPECTRUM. If you are seeking to fulfill secondary education volunteer work requirements, documentation must be provided before eligible work hours are performed.

For certain volunteer roles, such as fundraising or reception, a Police Check may be required.
