Distributor of Monthly Calendar

Position Description

Towards the end of each month, the print version of the “Rainbow Community Calendar” is published. Each Distributor of the Monthly Calendar commits to delivering copies to a particular area of Waterloo Region.  We have a detailed list of every place where we leave copies, and how many copies we leave there.  Each location has been receiving copies for some time and is an LGBTQ-friendly location.  Locations include public agencies, cafes, restaurants, etc.

This position requires some walking, whether you use a car or bus.  You should be comfortable spending some time outside and also speaking with people you do not know.

Impact Statement

SPECTRUM publishes the “Rainbow Community Calendar”, which is a monthly listing of events in Waterloo Region of interest to the LGBTQ community.  We distribute it in print format (as well as electronically) to various locations in Waterloo Region. Distributing print copies is a vital way of helping to maintain a sense of community.

Time Commitment

Our experience has shown that distribution in one of the cities (Waterloo, Kitchener or Cambridge) will take around 4 hours (once a month).

We are asking for a commitment to this position of at least 7 months.

Training Details

We will work with you to determine which areas of Waterloo Region you will make deliveries to. You will do your first runs with an experienced Distributor, and you will be provided with the detailed list of locations and number of copies for each location.
