Fundraising Committee Member

Position Description

Fundraising Committee members will: Write grant applications to funding agencies; Create requests for sponsorship to corporations and individuals; Organize fundraising events to benefit SPECTRUM; Investigate and assess additional sources of funding

We need detail-oriented volunteers who have information-gathering and proof-reading skills. Prior experience with fundraising would be an asset.

Impact Statement

By volunteering on the Fundraising Committee you can help ensure that adequate funds are available to carry out the services and programs of SPECTRUM for the benefit of the LGBTQ community in Waterloo Region.

Time Commitment

The time commitment varies considerably depending on the time of year. Around 6 hours a month averaged out over the year.

We are asking for a commitment to this position of at least 7 months.

Training Details

Volunteers will learn procedures by working with experienced members of the Fundraising Committee.

Please note!

You must be of Age of Majority (18 years old) in Ontario to volunteer. If you are below the age of majority, you may require express written consent of a legal guardian to volunteer with SPECTRUM. If you are seeking to fulfill secondary education volunteer work requirements, documentation must be provided before eligible work hours are performed.

For certain volunteer roles, such as fundraising or reception, a Police Check may be required.
