Host for Games Evenings President
Be a Volunteer!
SPECTRUM is built on the hard work and dedication of our volunteers. From the volunteer Board of Directors, to event organizers and group facilitators, to special projects, research, staffing drop-in hours, administrative work and much more, nothing happens at SPECTRUM not created by volunteer work.
We need volunteers with good social skills to help host these events. You will be expected to welcome visitors to the group and introduce them to others. An interest in playing board or card games would be a strong asset. If you are looking to help the community as well as have a great time, this may be the position for you. Visit us on Facebook.
Hosts for the games evening need to be LGBTQ-identified, since you would be working directly with members of our community.
NOTE: Before we interview you for this volunteer position, we ask that you come to at least TWO of the Games Evening events so that you can see whether this particular program is something that you would enjoy.
By volunteering for these events you will help provide LGBTQ-identified people with opportunities to enjoy each other’s company and bond over board games.
A four and a half hour block of time on Friday evenings – set-up at 6:30 PM; the event runs 7 – 11 PM.
We are asking for a commitment to this position of at least 4 months.
You will learn how to host the games evenings by shadowing an experienced host.
