Resource Listing Team Member

Position Description

Resource Listing Team members will: periodically check existing resource records to verify that the information is current; keep an eye out for new resources; and edit information into a polished form suitable for printing or the website.

We need detail-oriented volunteers who have information-gathering and proof-reading skills.

Impact Statement

SPECTRUM’s Resource Listing Team maintains listings of Waterloo-Wellington community resources (organizations, agencies, professionals, businesses) relevant to LGBTQ-individuals and to professionals in the local service agencies who would like to be able to refer clients of theirs appropriately.

Maintaining this information on local resources is vital to ensuring a strong and vibrant community!

Time Commitment

The time commitment is in general around 6 hours per month.

We are asking for a commitment to this position of at least 7 months.

Training Details

Volunteers will work with experienced Resource Listing Team members to learn the procedures.

Please note!

You must be of Age of Majority (18 years old) in Ontario to volunteer. If you are below the age of majority, you may require express written consent of a legal guardian to volunteer with SPECTRUM. If you are seeking to fulfill secondary education volunteer work requirements, documentation must be provided before eligible work hours are performed.

For certain volunteer roles, such as fundraising or reception, a Police Check may be required.
