Be a Volunteer!
SPECTRUM is built on the hard work and dedication of our volunteers. From the volunteer Board of Directors, to event organizers and group facilitators, to special projects, research, staffing drop-in hours, administrative work and much more, nothing happens at SPECTRUM not created by volunteer work.
Team members will: create recruitment strategies and direct recruitment plans; correspond with potential volunteers as well as interview them; develop and deliver training/orientation sessions for new volunteers; schedule volunteers for specific times as appropriate; and maintain records on volunteers and ensure that they are accurate and up-to-date.
NOTE: Before we interview you for this volunteer position, we ask that you come to at least TWO of the social events for at least TWO different programs (that is, at least FOUR events) so that you can meet some of our volunteers and decide whether handling volunteer management for SPECTRUM would be a good fit for you.
SPECTRUM is run entirely by volunteers. The Volunteer Management Team is responsible for maintaining our volunteer base. Help us keep SPECTRUM strong by ensuring that we have the volunteers to run our programs and services for the LGBTQ community!
The time commitment varies considerably. We are asking for a commitment to this position of at least 7 months.
You will learn how to carry your duties by working with an experienced member of the Volunteer Management Team.
