SPECTRUM Groups

A chance for KW (Cambridge too) queers to get together and play board games. We also solve jigsaw puzzles, play with dinky toys, like Yo-Yo’s, and build with LEGO, as we meet up with old friends and make new.

Sponsored by SPECTRUM, Waterloo Region’s Rainbow Community Resource Centre, and held every Friday from 7 -11 PM at SPECTRUM, 283 Duke St W, Unit 210, Kitchener.

This social drop-in event is a great opportunity to meet other people, to talk about whatever you currently have on your mind, and to make new friends! Come and hang out with us in a casual, relaxing atmosphere where you can just be yourself! This event is ideal for you if you just want to socialize in an LGBTQ-friendly setting.

We typically talk about anything that comes to mind, from TV shows to languages to fairy tales to technology to music – and occasionally LGBTQ issues. We also have cookies and other (sometimes healthier) snacks to share. Feel free to drop in at any time between 2-5 pm. Everyone is welcome!

AIDS Awareness Drop-In. 5-8 PM. Colin Boucher, Gay Men’s Sexual Health Coordinator for the AIDS Committee of Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo & Area (ACCKWA) will be at SPECTRUM 5-8 PM on the 4th Thursday of every month to answer any questions you may have about safer sex, hooking up, coming out, HIV, STIs, testing information, and more! Stop by if you also need any free condoms, lube, or dental dams.

Generally the 4th Thursday of the month.

We see things differently as we age. Priorities shift. Social circles change.

Please join us for a social and discussion group for older LGBTQ-identified adults.

We meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday evenings of the month, 7-9 PM at SPECTRUM (283 Duke St W, Unit 210, Kitchener).

SRC is SPECTRUM’s re-vamped reading circle. We meet at SPECTRUM on the 4th Thursday of the month from 6:30 – 8 PM. We read short stories and articles aloud, on the spot, so no prep is required. Participants are, however, encouraged to bring readings. Personal reflections on the material are encouraged. We often spend longer discussing the literature than listening or reading.
