The Region of Waterloo Municipal Election is happening on October 26, 2026.
This election, we have sent an e-mail to all local candidates* with a single question to answer. The question was dependent on the role they are a candidate for. The roles we have sent questions to Township candidates only includes the Mayor, except Woolwich Township which also votes for a WRDSB Trustee.

I want North Dumfries to be a community where everyone feels that they belong — including our queer and trans residents.
As mayor, I would work to ensure that our municipal facilities, programs and community events are welcoming and respectful places for everyone. That means listening to residents, taking concerns about discrimination or harassment seriously, supporting community organizations and making sure our staff and volunteers understand the importance of creating safe spaces.
I also believe this is about more than policies. It’s about how we treat our neighbours. We don’t all have to agree on everything, but we should be able to live, work, play and raise our families together with dignity and respect.
North Dumfries is changing, and as we grow, I want us to preserve what makes this community special — our strong sense of community and our willingness to look out for one another. Everyone should know that they have a place here.
